Hospital Auxiliary honours long-time volunteers

Past President Susan Law honoured Virginia Blakely for 50 years of being a dedicated volunteer with the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Past President Susan Law honours Rebecca McKellar with flowers and a pin honouring her contribution of more than 7,000 hours to the PECMH Auxiliary.

CHEERS! from the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to all its long-time volunteers – including Virginia Blakely, who has been with the organization for more than 50 years and Rebecca McKellar who has given more than 7,000 hours.

Immediate Past President Susan Law will become a Provincial Life Member of HAAO (Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario). Law, a retired nurse, is being recognized in the leadership category for her work in Picton and in her former home in Ottawa. She will receive her award at the provincial convention in November.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Charles Vincent, retiring from the PECMH Auxiliary Board of Directors after four years as Treasurer. He will continue to work with the Festival of Trees event. In addition to the certificate, he received several “gifts” chosen and presented by Art Hewer, director of fund-raising programs.

A Certificate of Appreciation was also presented to Suzanne Pasternak who last year organized the Zeke Mazurek Memorial Concert. The concert raised approximately $6 000, which, at Suzanne’s request, was used toward the renovation of the staff lounge at Picton hospital.
