Hospital auxiliary welcomes new slate of officers

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary welcomed its new slate of officers during last week’s annual general meeting held at Huff Estates Winery.

Peggy Payne will continue to lead the officers for 2014-2015 as president. New to the officers are Liz Jones, as the auxiliary’s vice-president;  Catherine Starkey as director of community services and Jack Starkey  as director of membership and volunteer services. Beverley Thompson will be the new treasurer.

Continuing members include Fran Donaldson as past president; Judy Anderson as Secretary; Dorothy Speirs-Vincent as communications representative; Pam Strachan, fundraising retail; Carolynn Whiteley, in-hospital services) and  Art Hewer, fundraising projects.

Thanked for their work on behalf of the auxiliary were retiring executives Ursula Cattelan, Nancy Finnegan and Susan Law.

The PECMHA is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.

The women behind the pink smocks were honoured at a celebration tea earlier this year.

The 80th anniversary celebration luncheon is set Thursday, Sept. 18 at Isaiah Tubbs Resort.
