This year’s Smile Cookie campaign results are in and they’re sweeter than ever.

Customers of Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie Campaign helped raise $13,007 for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF). Topping the 2021 result by $2,735, this is the best Smile Cookie result that has been raised locally to date.

“This year’s campaign was a record-breaking success and it wouldn’t have been possible without the loyal support of our customers and our dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to create those 13,007 smiles to Back the Build for our new County hospital,” said Paul Massey, owner of the Picton and Wellington Tim Hortons.

The campaign ran for one week from Sept. 19 to 25 where both the Picton and Wellington restaurants designated the proceeds of their $1 chocolate chunk cookie sales to the PECMH Foundation for the ninth consecutive year. Tim Hortons has supported the hospital foundation’s equipment fund and now the new hospital for more than 20 years.

This year’s Smile Cookie campaign pushes Tim Hortons’ cumulative giving to $66,264.

“The relationship we have with our local Tim Hortons family is very special,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “Paul Massey, his family and the staff at Tim Hortons’ continue to invest in local healthcare, which is an investment in our community’s quality of life. This gift, made possible by all the customers who enjoyed cookies throughout the Smile Cookie campaign, will have an impact on the future of healthcare delivery in our community.”

Libby Crombie, a Back the Build campaign cabinet member also thanked Massey and “all of the amazing donors for their positive support of our hospital. You all put a smile on our face with this year’s fantastic result.

“Every donation, no matter the size, helps get us closer to reaching our $27M fundraising goal for the new hospital. With over $20.7M raised to-date, this gift from Tim Hortons will help ensure we have a new, leading-edge hospital armed with the best medical equipment possible.”

The foundation is raising $27M to help build the new 96k square-foot hospital, projected to open in 2027. Donations received between now and 2027 will help to purchase the major medical equipment needed in the new hospital and incorporate environmental sustainability enhancements and smart technology into the design.

The foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to raising funds for the new hospital and its equipment. Find out more by visiting the foundation website.
