The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation applied for a grant to the Royal Canadian Legion, Ontario Provincial Command Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries Charities Foundation and were awarded $6,500 toward the Digital Mammography and Ultrasound campaign. The acquisition of this equipment ensures state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging procedures can remain in Picton. “This type of community support is vital as the government does not provide funds to purchase priority medical equipment,” says Anna Marie Ferguson, the Foundation’s executive director. “It has always been the responsibility of the community, through the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, to fund the medical equipment needs. The Foundation has always enjoyed the trust, support and generosity of this community. We recognize the spirit of giving and are most grateful.” Pictured here, from left, are Nancy Dainard, president of the Picton Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary, Ferguson, and Ted Taylor, president Picton Legion Branch 78. – Briar Boyce photo
