Hwy 401 closure at Brighton could still be in effect Monday

UPDATE MARCH 11 – 9 a.m. Westbound lanes now open.

UPDATE 8:20 p.m. Sunday’s road closure of westbound lanes on Highway 401 near Brighton could remain in effect until Monday.

OPP report police and clean up crews are still on the scene of the tractor trailer rollover. The tanker spilled tar on the highway.

UPDATE: At about 3:45 p.m. OPP communications update states Road Closure: #Hwy401 WB at County Rd 40 #Trenton – WB lanes remain blocked. Reopening time unknown

Hwy 401 closures in east and west

Hwy. 401 is jammed in both directions Sunday morning.
The OPP advised at about noon that east and westbound lanes are closed at Hwy401 between County Rd 30 and County Rd 40 at Trenton to remove a vehicle.

About an hour earlier, Hwy401 westbound between Gananoque and Joyceville, the OPP advised to expect extended delays as the right lane is blocked. (OPP photo) UPDATE: This scene has been cleared.
