Hwy 62 at Mountainview re-opened to traffic

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police-Prince Edward County detachment with the assistance of the Prince Edward County Fire Department and Ambulance are at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on Hwy 62 at Mountainview.  Limited details are available as of 9 a.m. this morning.

Hwy 62 is currently closed at this location.  Police are asking motorists to use the detour that is set up at Highway 62 and County Rd 2 and Highway 62 and County Road 14.

The highway was re-opened to traffic just before 1 p.m.

    Hwy 62 is hazardous because the federal government has not installed snow fencing along the airport perimeter abutting the road.
    I’ve had trouble there due to the snow drifts; as well, I’ve seen cars hit drifts and lose control.
    I can choose not go to Belleville, others can not.
