Katlyn Wood puts on a good show at Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

CHEERS! – Katlyn Wood was the only PEC 4-H Goat club member that showed a Goat at the Royal Winter Fair this year in the TD National Dairy Goat Youth Show, competing with the top youth across Canada.
Katlyn has been in 4-H for 5 years (since 2006), involved in the Goat club along with a long list of other 4-H clubs and opportunities.
Katlyn did extremely well in all her classes, but particularly well in the Showmanship Class. This demonstrates the youth’s skills at not only fitting the animal by clipping and washing but how the youth presents the animal to the judge.
Katlyn is skilled in this area and as a result she placed 3rd in Showmanship upon her first attempt at RAWF.
A big thank you to Ryan And Christi Prins of Pryme Farms in Wooler, ON for allowing Katlyn to use one of their goats to make this show possible for her. Katlyn had worked with the goat quite a bit to prepare. Ryan and Christi have also been very helpful in supporting the PEC 4-H Goat Club.
Katlyn intends to build her own herd and has already started this process.
