Members of the OPP, Correctional Services of Canada and other law enforcement agencies will bring the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics to Picton on Thursday, May 22nd.
The event is set to start at 9:30 am at the Crystal Palace and loop through the downtown area. From Picton, the run moves to Napanee.
Officers and volunteers will have buckets out, seeking donations to support Special Olympics Ontario.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a running event in which officers and athletes run with the “Flame of Hope”. Funds raised assist programs which directly impact all local community-based special olympics activities.
It is through the dedication, commitment and passion of the runners that enable the Ontario program to continue to be not only the number one fundraising arm for Special Olympics Ontario, but a world-class program recognized internationally for raising in excess of $1,000,000 every year.
