Man arrested after making multiple 911 calls

Prince Edward County OPP officers responded to approximately 10 9-1-1 calls Sunday Sept, 13 shortly after 4 a.m., all from County Road 3 in Ameliasburgh.

“These calls originated from the same individual who continued to mislead officers,” said PEC OPP Const. Aaron Miller. “During one of these calls, a threat was made to burn down property.”

Officers located the individual a while later. A 25-year-old man from Tweed was arrested and charged with public mischief , uttering threats- damage to property.

Prince Edward OPP remind the public that 911 is to be used in cases of emergency only.
