Maple in the County highlights Prince Edward County’s sugar bush and maple syrup production – but don’t miss all the great food, music, shopping, dancing, fine dining, and family activities. The 10th annual celebration is set for March 26-27, 2011.

The Picton BIA will hold its Maple Madness Celebration downtown Picton on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The main events will take place on Elizabeth Street where an urban-like celebration will consist of family fun activities such as a Rock Climbing Wall, face painting, fiddle entertainment, magic show, s’mores over an open fire. Also new this year is a Spring Craft Market to be held above Books & Company on Main Street, Picton featuring locally-made items including beauty products, clothing and food. Each week day from March 1st until the Maple in the County weekend (March 26-27th) Taste The County will be uploading a photo of an obscure object used in the production of maple syrup on Taste the County’s Facebook page!
Submit your guesses on what the object is used for and get a chance to win a gift certificate from a Maple participant. Don’t worry if you don’t know the right answer, all of the most creative answers and all of the correct answers submitted will be eligible for the draw.
