Millennium Trail in Wellington expected to re-open this fall

The municipality’s contractor is installing the final piece of trunk sanitary sewer along the Millennium Trail in Wellington.

The contractor has resumed removing rock material on the trail between West Street and Wharf Street to complete the remaining 60 metres of the trunk sanitary sewer. This work is expected to take place over the next two weeks.

Noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work. Vibrations may be felt in the area as the contractor breaks up and removes the rock material.

Trail restoration update

Trail restoration work has been completed on the trail between Cleminson and Consecon streets, as well as between Wharf and Belleville streets. Work has included landscaping and soil removal, hydroseeding, and tree plantings.

Once the final section of trunk sanitary sewer is installed, the final watermain section will be placed and commissioned. Similar landscaping work will occur on the trail between West and Wharf streets. The trail is expected to fully reopen this fall.

People with questions regarding this work, should contact Chris Timpson, Project Manager, at 613.476.2148 extension 2035 or email ctimpson@pecounty.on.ca
