Seven new COVID-19 cases; active cases rise to 41

DEC. 9: Seven new COVID-19 cases were reported Wednesday on the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health dashboard.
Four people have recovered, bringing the total cases up to 41, and total cases since March to 190.
Three new cases are connected to ongoing outbreaks, three are pending and one is attributed to close contact.
Five workplace outbreaks in Belleville and Quinte West include 28 cases. There are 22 cases in Belleville, 15 in Quinte West, two in both Prince Edward County and Centre Hastings.
The seven day case rate per 100,000 is 22.6 – within the “yellow” framework of the province’s COVID-19 response.
Nine new COVID-19 cases; active cases rise to 38
DEC. 8: COVID-19 cases took a spike with nine reported on the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health dashboard Tuesday.
There are currently 24 cases in Belleville, 10 in Quinte West, and two in both Prince Edward County and Centre Hastings.
A workplace outbreak (number six) in Belleville was listed today with two cases. The Trenton Walmart outbreak Dec. 6 remains at six cases, outbreak number four in Belleville, remains at four cases and the Proctor and Gamble outbreak from Nov. 27 is at 12 cases. Outbreak number two, in Quinte West on Nov. 12, is listed at three cases. Outbreak one in Quinte West from Oct. 13 is declared over.
There were six recoveries posted Tuesday, bringing the active number of cases up by three, to 38 and the total in the area since March, to 183.
Three new COVID-19 cases, active cases drop to 35
DEC. 7: Three new COVID-19 cases in Belleville related to close contact, were reported by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health on Monday.
With recoveries, the current case load drops to 35 in the region, but rises to 174 cases since the pandemic began in March.
The Public Health dashboard shows 26 cases in Belleville; five in Quinte West, one in Central Hastings and three in Prince Edward County.
Four outbreaks remain ongoing with two cases listed for the Trenton Walmart declared Dec. 6; four for an unnamed outbreak in Belleville declared Dec. 2; 11 related to the Protor and Gamble outbreak (Nov. 27) and three listed for an unnamed outbreak in Quinte West (Nov. 12).
Three new COVID-19 cases, active cases at 40
DEC. 5 – Three new COVID-19 cases and five recoveries were reported for Hastings Prince Edward Saturday – bringing active cases here to 40.
The three new cases listed Friday were attributed to close contact, local spread and pending.
The seven-day case rate is at 22.6 per 100,000 – within the ‘yellow/prevent’ level of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework.
Eight new COVID-19 cases, one new workplace outbreak in Belleville
DEC. 4 – Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting eight new cases and one new workplace outbreak of COVID-19.
A fourth new workplace outbreak is listed as in Belleville. It is the third since Nov 12. All earlier outbreaks are declared over.
There are now 42 active cases (most in Belleville) bringing the total since March to 166. The dashboard shows three cases for Prince Edward County in a seven day period. There have been five cases listed as recovered in the last 24 hours.
Of the eight new cases, five were transmitted by close contact with three still pending determination. Three of the five are listed as outbreak-related.
The number of cases tied to the outbreak at Procter & Gamble Nov. 27 have been reduced to 11, from 17.
Four new COVID cases
DEC. 3 – Four COVID-19 cases were declared by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Dec. 3. One positive case has been reported to relate to CML Snider elementary school in Wellington. Parents/guardians were being called early Thursday afternoon to pick up their children.
With recoveries, the active cases drops to 39, from 44 posted Dec. 2. The counties remain in the ‘yellow’ level with a seven day case rate per 100,000 of 22. The total number of cases since March is now 158, with 114 recoveries and five deaths (in the spring). Click here to view the dashboard.
A fourth outbreak shows on the dashboard, reported in Belleville Dec. 2, with six cases. The Proctor and Gamble outbreak declared Nov. 27 remains at 17 cases.
Seven new cases for total of 44 in region
DEC 2: Seven new cases of COVID-19 are being reported today by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health.
The dashboard now shows 44 active cases in the two counties, with two recoveries since yesterday. Travel is linked to one new case, close contact to two cases and the remaining four are pending cause.
The seven day case rate per 100,000 people is now 20.8.
The dashboard reports 17 cases of the virus linked to the outbreak at Procter and Gamble.
Most of nine new COVID-19 cases related to outbreak
DEC. 1: Following its first double-digit surge in cases Monday, Hastings Prince Edward Health posted another nine cases lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases to its dashboard on Tuesday.
Nine of Monday’s 10 cases were related to the outbreak at Procter and Gamble in Belleville. Tuesday, six of nine new cases were linked to that outbreak, bringing the total to 15.
With two recoveries, there are now 39 active cases in the region – mostly in Belleville. Three people with ties to Loyalist College have tested positive. One person at St. Paul’s Secondary School in Trenton tested positive Nov. 29. There is also one active case with a student at Stirling Public School.
There are no cases in Prince Edward County. Since March there have been 147 cases, 103 recoveries and five deaths (in the spring).
