As the Ontario legislative resumed business today, Tyler Allsopp was formally affirmed as the Bay of Quinte Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) and later in the day, was also affirmed as the
Parliamentary Assistant to Minister of Long-Term Care Natalia Kusendova-Bashta.
To mark the occasion, Allsopp released a statement.
“It was an incredible experience to be affirmed today and walked into the Legislature by Premier Ford and House Leader Steve Clark, and to be welcomed with such a warm reception from all my colleagues in the legislature.
“To be able to sit in a seat that so few others have occupied is humbling and I am so grateful to all the people in the Bay of Quinte for entrusting me to represent them in Queen’s Park.”
He states he is looking forward to serving as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Long-Term Care.
“I am excited to join this team that has been accomplishing so much in terms of improving care,
expanding accessibility, and building more long-term care beds all across Ontario,” his statement reads. “As we know, the Bay of Quinte has one of the oldest populations in Ontario and has several new long-term care projects ongoing.”
As a Belleville city councillor, Allsopp served on the Hastings County long-term care committee.
“This new position is a very natural fit for me. I am looking forward to going on tours and facilitating openings across Ontario and representing the minister and ministry.”
