Neil Carbone leaving the County

Neil Carbone

Neil Carbone, the County’s Director of Community Development and Strategic Initiatives, has accepted the position of chief administrative officer of the Township of South Frontenac, effective July 12, 2019.

“We acknowledge the outstanding leadership Neil brought to the Community Development Department. His dedication, insight, and collaborative approach contributed to the successful implementation of a number of programs, services, and initiatives,” said Robert McAuley, Acting Chief Administrative Officer. “On behalf of everyone at the County, I would like to wish Neil all the best in his future endeavours.”

Wayne Orr, current CAO, is retiring. South Frontenac Township, on the outskirts of Kingston, has a population of about 18,500.

Carbone joined the County in November 2012 to lead the newly-formed community development department. Prior he served in senior management roles with the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.

The County intends to conduct a broad search to recruit Carbone’s successor.

Hard to replace James as well.

  2. Susan Rose says:

The question is why didn’t the County offer him the CAO position? Wow this is going to be hard to replace Neil, I wish him well!

  3. Gary Mooney says:

This is a great loss to County government. Neil is smart, forward-thinking, an excellent communicator, attracts good people and works well with residents. I had hoped that he would be the County’s next CAO.

  4. Susan says:

Bigger question is why is there always a revolving door at Shire Hall.

  5. Ian says:

I wish him well in his new role but what a loss, his commitment and talent will indeed be missed.

  6. Adam says:

    He’ll be missed.
