New executive director for Children’s Aid

Tami Callahan

Tami Callahan will lead the Highland Shores Children’s Aid society as executive director.

Having most recently served as its director of services, she has been in the role of interim executive director since January 7, following the resignation of Mark Kartusch in November.

“Tami is a strong leader at the society and is well-respected in the community,” said Kartusch.

“Tami brings a wealth of experience to the role of executive director gained not only from her time as director of services but also from the more than 27 years she has devoted to the field of child welfare,” said Michael McLeod, president of the board.

Prior to her role at HSCA, Tami worked for 14 years at the Children’s Aid Society of Northumberland in the positions of supervisor and then director of services. She also worked as a clinical investigator at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer.

“I am excited to be in the role of executive director and look forward to working with the staff, board and community to respond to the needs of children, youth and families in our service area,” said Callahan.

“On behalf of the board of directors I’d like to acknowledge the significant contributions of Mark Kartusch.”
