New Year’s Day beach walk despite wet flurries and rain

Some Prince Edward County residents welcomed the new year with a walk at Sandbanks Provincial Park despite the rain and wet flurries on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Thursday is expected to offer a mix of sun and cloud, windy, with flurries and a risk of snow squalls (about 2cm expected), while a snow squall warning is on for Belleville and Quinte West areas with up to 20cm possible, but uncertain, today and overnight. The mix of sun and cloud with flurries is expected to continue over the weekend. Environment Canada forecasts colder weather than was enjoyed in December, ranging from a high of zero to an overnight low of -12.
