No injuries in fire at Ralph’s Meat Market

UPDATE:
Ralph’s Meat Market, at 79 Main Street in Picton has closed temporarily following a fire inside Friday morning.
Upon arrival, after 8 a.m. Friday, personnel from Fire Station 1 quickly extinguished a basement fire limiting further damage to the building.
“The crew made excellent use of their training and teamwork to locate and extinguish this fire, ” said Deputy Fire Chief Tim Kraemer. “The fire caused about $400,000 in property damage but fire personnel prevented $1.1 million from further loss.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us. We are all safe and no one was hurt,” the shop reported on its Facebook page. “We are already working on things to get up and running as soon as possible to serve our community again.”
