No injuries in house fire on Kleinsteuber

Crews from Prince Edward County Fire Stations 1 and 2 responded to a early morning house fire on Kleinsteuber Parks Road Thursday, Oct. 12.

Firefighters arrived at about 2:45 a.m. to a working structure fire that took about 30 minutes to bring under control.

Fire Chief Chad Brown said all occupants exited the house safely, and the home had working smoke alarms.

Damage is estimated at $700,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not deemed suspicious.

This week is Fire Prevention Week. Prince Edward County Fire reminds that a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm can help you escape a house fire.
