Two occupants of a float plane were not seriously injured when their craft went down near Salmon Point.
Prince Edward County emergency services responded to calls of a crash just after 10:30 a.m. Prince Edward OPP Community Safety Officer Connor Durkin reports the plane crash occurred while the pilot was landing on the water.
“A portion of the landing apparatus malfunctioned, causing a wing to dip into the water,” he said. “The two occupants of the plane were not seriously injured. Both were treated for gasoline exposure at the incident location.”
The plane was towed from the water. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has been notified.
