Nominations open for PEC Heritage Awards

The Prince Edward County Heritage Advisory Committee will continue to honour individuals who have contributed to the preservation and promotion of heritage with Prince Edward County Heritage Awards.

“Committing oneself to heritage preservation is rarely an easy undertaking, so it’s important to recognize true champions who work passionately to preserve the buildings and culture that make the County such a unique place,” said Mayor Steve Ferguson.

The nominations are now open. Awards have been established for four categories:
– Conservation of Built Heritage – For preservation, restoration or protection of built heritage in Prince Edward County
– Heritage Awareness and Advocacy – For outstanding contributions in public advocacy on behalf of heritage in Prince Edward County
– Preservation of Cultural Heritage Landscapes – For preservation or protection of cultural heritage landscapes in Prince Edward County
– Lifetime Achievement – For extensive commitment to the preservation and promotion of the cultural or built heritage of Prince Edward County.

Last year’s recipients included Elizabeth Crombie, Alexandra Bake, Stewart Murray, Steve Campbell and Peter Lockyer. Click here for story
