OPP charge officer following rollover

Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to overturned vehicle in the ditch on Prince Edward County Road 2, near Salem Road, June 14 shortly before 8 p.m.
As a result of the investigation, Constable Patrick Menard, 48, was charged with: Having a Blood Alcohol Concentration of over 80 mg per 100 ml of blood within two hours of Driving (Criminal Code 320.14)
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton in June 26.
The officer, a seven-year member of the OPP, assigned to the Prince Edward Detachment, currently on leave, was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
