OPP seek more information in break and enter investigation

Prince Edward OPP has arrested one person and recovered suspected stolen property in connection with several recent break and enters in Prince Edward County.

On Aug. 1 shortly before 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and individual at a residence on Whattams Road. The complainant observed a male on the property and believed property inside the vehicle may have been linked to a previous theft.

Police located and arrested the individual without incident.

As a result of the investigation, officers recovered several items believed to be stolen, including power tools and other property. Investigators subsequently linked the accused to several break and enter incidents in the area, resulting in multiple criminal charges.

A 31-year-old from Loyalist Township, has been charged with:
Break and Enter Dwelling House with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence (three counts)
Mischief Under $5,000 (three counts)
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice.
