PECI Girl’s hockey ended regular season play with back-to-back wins this week.

Monday the girls took on ENSS Blue Dragons and won 3-1. The game started strong for the Panthers with Brooke Jackson scoring within the first 20 seconds of the period. The game became dominated by ENSS, thirsty for a goal, but they were shut out.

During the second period, ENSS  spent a lot of time in the Panthers end but goalie Madison Rowbotham shut down all the shots ENSS threw her way. On one of the few chances PECI got, Celina Fox scored the second goal for PECI half way through the second. Thirty seconds later, Sydney Davis scored the third goal. Assists to Abby Terpstra and Kendra Marion. The Panthers got into some trouble as they got a penalty toward the end of the period but were able to hold ENSS.

The Panther’s strong defense kept the Dragons at bay until half way through the third period when the Panthers took a penalty, giving ENSS opportunity to score their only goal of the game.

Tuesday the team played Centre Hastings Centurions, where they won 4-0. The game started out strong for the Panthers, with Marion scoring the first goal half way through the first period. Thirty seconds later, Maddy Young scored a sweet bar down goal for the Panthers.

During the second period the Panthers came out strong not giving CHSS many chances to score. Half way through the second, Terpstra scored the third goal of the game and the only goal of the second.

The third period was dominated by the Panthers as Marion scored her second and the final goal of the game. Special recognition goes to Cori Goodman, Jackson and Davies who got one assist and to Rowbotham who got her third shutout of the season.

The Panthers have completed the season and are now waiting for the rest of league to finish games before knowing who they will play in the quarter finals of the Bay of Quinte.
