PEC OPP and friends carry a torch for Special Olympians

Prince Edward County OPP officers, Special Olympians and students from Prince Edward Collegiate Institute ran through Picton with the “Flame of Hope” Wednesday morning in support of the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The event raises awareness and funds for the Special Olympics and its Canada Summer Games to be held July 13-17 in London, Ontario. Athletes from across the country will be taking part in the competitions for the chance to represent Canada at the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Greece.
