PECI Jr. Boys basketball team captures gold in Cobourg

The PECI Jr Boys basketball team captured the gold medal at the Cobourg Collegiate Institute Invitational on the weekend.
The boys defeated the host school 52-24 and Trinity College 49-26 to advance to the championship game where they matched up with AAA Thomas A. Stewart from Peterborough.
“They boys used their tenacious defence to dominate in the first half and built a 24-1 lead,” said Coach Rob Garden. “They cruised to victory winning 33-16.”
Jack MacCool, Alex Aresnault and Brodie Byford were named game MVPs while Devon Wilton was awarded tournament MVP honours.
The boys take a break for exams but pick back up on Feb 1st when they host Moira at 1:30pm.
