A winning week for PECI athletes

It was a winning week at PECI. The curling team and girls hockey team opened their seasons this week with two wins. The curling team beat STSS 5 – 2 while the girls hockey team beat CHSS 7 – 1. The boys basketball teams also both won their games vs THS to start the year 2 – 0.
Curling and gymnastics will be new options for this year’s winter athletic offerings which include Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Hockey, Boys Basketball.

PECI’s senior boys volleyball team qualified for COSSA AA action in Cobourg this week following some tough matches at the Bay of Quinte Championship, hosted at the school last week.

The Junior Girls Basketball team won the “B” Championship at the Crusader Classic while the Senior Boys Volleyball team won a silver medal at the Centre Hastings tournament. Both teams look to have a strong playoff performance this week.
The senior boys will host the Bay of Quinte Volleyball Championships Wednesday.

A lot of action with PECI athletics. Some highlights:
GIRLS RUGBY:
The junior and senior girls played their best games of the season vs SPSS and CHSS. Great season ladies.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL:
The junior team went 1-0-2 this week with some impressive games VS powerhouse Quinte Christian.
BOYS SOCCER:
The senior boys soccer teams won both of their games this week. Congratulations to Lucas Clarke on scoring six goals this week.
GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Good luck to the girls basketball team as they head to Ottawa this weekend to play in the 23rd annual St. Matthew Fall Classic.

PECI Panther Athletics has launched a new school year in high gear with girls’ basketball, rugby, boys’ soccer and volleyball. The Golf Team had its first tourney of the year and shot in the 80s.
