PECI drama students will present ‘The Trouble with Gingerbread – A Hansel and Gretel Story – a family-friendly musical romp through the County a la Hansel and Gretel.
Directed by drama teacher Matthew Sheahan, the show is a family friendly romp through the town of Bloomington in the County of Prince Eddy.
You’ll meet twins Hansel and Gretel, who, along with their trusty dog Wellington, will try to reverse the family curse placed on their family by the evil witch Grigella, while Gretel simultaneusly tries to avoid the son of the village winemaker, Karlo Huff the Third, and get the Golden Rooster Bob, who will help save the farm.
Rock out to some Bon Jovi, Journey and Loverboy tunes as this musical comedy tries to turn it loose with something for everyone. Get seat vouchers at Books and Company or at the door. Admission is free of charge, but seating is limited.
The production opens with two shows for elementary students Thursday, March 1 followed by a student matinee Friday, March 2 at noon at the school.
Public performances begin Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
