The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation was proud to see its nomination of Adam and Chrissy Busscher and the staff at Picton Home Hardware Building Centre honoured for a philanthropy award for an outstanding organization or corporation under 100 employees through the Association of Fundraising Professionals, South Eastern Ontario Chapter.

Honoured at a gala event, Celebrate Philanthropy – From the Heart, at the spectacular Memorial Hall of Kingston City Hall recently, the Busscher’s were presented with a framed certificate for their philanthropic efforts on behalf of Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

The National Philanthropy Day awards were created to recognize the people and organizations that have made a commitment to their community through their generous support of the causes for which they are most passionate.

The Foundation nominated the family-run business for continued and tireless desire to raise funds for priority medical equipment needs at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

This past spring, Picton Home Hardware Building Centre surpassed the $25,000 mark, raised in four years through electronics recycling events at the store. Not only do the Busscher’s volunteer their time at these events, but encourage and inspire their family and staff members to give back to their community through volunteerism.

The Busschers and Picton Home Hardware were recognized for their dedication to Picton’s hospital but also for their energy and enthusiasm working toward the betterment of our community as a whole. They have proven themselves to be true leaders, always at the forefront when it comes to supporting fundraising initiatives in Prince Edward County.
