Picton Firefighters Association helps Camp Bucko support burn victims at camp

The Picton Firefighters’ Association presented $6,000 to Camp Bucko this year from money raised at its annual golf tournament. Camp Bucko is located near Bancroft and is a one week free camping experience for children aged 7 to 17 who have burn injuries. The residential setting encourages campers to participate in various social, recreational, and therapeutic activities that promote self-esteem, leadership skills, and personal growth. Campers have a place where they can be themselves without feeling different or alone. With association members pictured, is Sherry Lorimer, Camp Bucko Operations Coordinator, receiving the cheque. The paddle, signed by campers and staff, is from Camp Bucko in appreciation of the firefighters’ ongoing support.
