The first weekend of training camp is complete and the Picton Pirates staff and organization is excited about local talent and potential by new and returning players.
“I couldn’t be happier with the turn-out and work ethic this weekend,” said Ryan Woodward, general manager and head coach. “We are looking to replace and fill a significant amount of roster spots at every position this off-season. Players have arrived to camp in great shape and it’s obvious the internal competition to make our hockey club will be intense this pre-season.”
The Pirates will be back on the ice this week, leading up to pre-season rookie games vs. Napanee and Campbellford this upcoming weekend at the RCAF Arena in Trenton.
The Pirates parent volunteers Dawn Peever and Ron Healey for hard work over the weekend and Wil Gibson, Steve Prinzen and Rob Garden for donating time and service as officials; and staff members Doug Peever and Harvey Terpstra for endless help each day.
