Poker Run for Prostate Cancer races into Picton

At cruising speeds of 90km/hr and higher, speed boats ran the waves into Picton Saturday as part of a family fun day hosted by Power Boating Canada.
The Poker Run and Rendez-Vous events featured up to $10,000 in cash prizes in support of the Run the Wave Campaign for Prostate Cancer Canada. They 800-1,000 horse power boats gathered at Meyers Pier in Belleville for the poker run, boat displays and charity rides.
On the 45 performance boats included participants from Toronto, Florida and Chicago. The run featured stops at Belleville, Quinte West and Picton. Performance boats travel at 90 km/h and higher while the family boats run at about 80 km/h.
