Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment are investigating mischief along an ATV trail at Point Petre where unknown suspects strung “spiderwire” type fishing line across the trail at various heights.
“One rider was struck at chest height which caused them to be pushed back on their ATV,” said Cst. Patrick Menard. “No injuries were sustained due to a speed the ATV was travelling and the conditions of the trails. Approximately five other lines were removed with several strung at neck height.”
Menard said OPP are urging riders to pay attention to their surroundings while on the trails and to be cautious.
Police are continuing with their investigation and are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident or if anyone has witnessed anything unusual to contact the OPP Provincial Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477(TIPS).
