Police investigating Hydro fraud incident

Prince Edward OPP detachment is investigating a report of fraud following an incident Monday where a business located on County Road 1 was approached by a woman posing as a Hydro One employee.
She was requesting personal account and credit information from the complainant and threatened to turn off the complainant’s electricity if they did not forward the information.
The suspect is described as a woman in her 40s, medium build, dark hair pulled back, wearing jeans, a hydro construction vest or t-shirt and a white hydro helmet. The suspect was also driving a white truck with what appeared to be a Hydro One logo on the driver side door.
The OPP confirmed that Hydro One does not canvass asking for personal information.
