Police warn fake US money is being used in the area

Ontario Provincial Police are warning businesses in the area there are on-going reports from various police agencies of counterfeit American currency being passed along the Highway 401 corridor.
The counterfeits have been in the $20 and $50 denominations.
In January 8, 2016 an officer with the Napanee OPP recovered $790 in counterfeit American currency in a vehicle stopped in Napanee.
One adult and three young offenders from Mississauga face charges of possession of counterfeit currency and uttering counterfeit currency.
