The new Secondary Plan for Wellington has received provincial approval.
The plan is a guide to growth and development for the County’s second largest urban centre and sets out detailed land use policies specific to Wellington. It adresses issues such as employment, land use, housing, community services and facilities, design, development, sewage and water, transportation, parks, recreation, heritage conservation and the environment.
“We are pleased to have received final approval from the province, enabling us to begin implementing the Wellington Secondary Plan,” said Mayor Robert Quaiff. “The plan will provide Wellington residents and developers with valuable information that will help guide consistent decision making and maintain the quality of place that makes Wellington so appealing.”
The plan will form part of the County’s new Official Plan, currently under review.
