Several Kingston folks getting their vaccine in Picton today. I can understand but I also feel folks in our Health Region who have worked very hard to control spread should get theirs.

  2. Fred says:

Dennis, where are you booked for next week as most clinics have been canceled.

  3. Teena says:

I understand that our illustrious government is winging this whole Covid booking thing…but badly mismanaged doesn’t even come close to describing it. My husband booked through the Ontario website when his age group came up and has managed to get an appt in Picton. My age group appeared a couple of days later and, golly gee, I get to go to Napanee! I hope I don’t catch Hell from the locals when I arrive, but damn if they wouldn’t have a great reason to be PO’d! And now we have the pleasure of waiting to see if our appointments will be cancelled

I was at the Picton clinic this morning – while waiting in the parking lot, I talked with a couple of people who just had their vaccine – they were from Kingston, and Collins Bay! It upsets me to see people from other areas (who have their own public clinics) taking the spots of those who live locally. To me, it shows that the system is not working the way it should be and makes me questions the value of registering for an appointment. My appointment is set for next week – so I hold my breath.

  5. Susan says:

That was communicated by Public Health last week as a likeky scenario as of April 26th 25% of our vaccines are redirected to hot spots,

  6. Sara Lou Miller says:

HPE cancelled my appointment today- I can’t believe it . I had to call and now I’m rescheduled for a month from now – May 20th. My original appointment was for next week and my husband already had his and we are both in our 70s

  7. Dennis Fox says:

I’m a little confused with what is happening – I read today on the Quinte New site that Quinte West Council sent a notice to the province expressing concern over the provincial plan to redirect 25% of the vaccines from our area to various other location around the province. Apparently our Public Health Department have also expressed this same concern. But at this same time our Public Heath Dept. have announced that all of their spaces are filled – and yet I still received a notice advising me that my appointment could be cancelled due to this redirection of vaccines by Queen’s Park??? And this article advises us that the pharmacies are giving out vaccines. It seem that the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing.

  8. Barbara Shane says:

What happens to the people who don’t want the AstraZeneca vaccine?
But will get the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Do they get to choose?
