QHC grateful for $250,000 Parrott Foundation donation

Quinte Health Care (QHC) leadership is expressing gratitude to the Parrott Foundation for a $250,000 donation made this week to support the COVID-19 response efforts at all four QHC hospitals.

“We have been overwhelmed by the community support of our hospitals over the past month, from sewing groups, to donations of PPE, to local manufacturers now supplying hand sanitizer, face masks and other supplies,” said Mary Clare Egberts, QHC President & CEO. “This significant donation from the Parrott Foundation is also incredibly appreciated during these very challenging times.”

The donation will be directed toward covering costs in the area of greatest needs at all four QHC hospitals. This could include, for example, laboratory equipment to support COVID-19 testing, additional patient beds, or priority medical equipment such as ventilators needed during the pandemic.

“The legacy of Mr. and Mrs. Parrott is to continue improving the quality of life in Quinte area through the Parrott Foundation donations,” said Lyle Vanclief of the Parrott Foundation. “Assisting with QHC’s response to be able to care for people from across this region during the COVID-19 pandemic certainly meets this goal. We are pleased to be able to assist and encourage others to consider supporting the hospitals during this time”
