Nine Quinte Dolphins took home 22 awards, 29 personal best times and broke club records at a swim meet hosted by the Belleville Youth Swim Team last weekend.

The Dolphins train at the PEFAC under the direction of coach Jim Anfield who accompanied the team members to the event.

15-year-old Morgan Clark placed in all seven of her events winning gold in the 50m butterfly, four silver medals in the 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, and 200m IM, and collecting bronze medals in 100 and 200 metre freestyle.  Clark broke three dolphin club records for 15 and over female previously held by past dolphin team member Jessika Craig.

10 year old Annika Hudgin won a gold medal in the 50m backstroke and collected four bronze medals in the 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, and 400 m freestyle events.  She was also awarded a 4th place ribbon in the 100m freestyle.

14 year old Abby Taylor won 4th place ribbons in the 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke, a 5th place ribbon in the 100m IM and a 7th place ribbon in the 400m freestyle.  Taylor achieved qualifying times in three events on the weekend and in now eligible to compete at the Eastern Ontario short course championships in February 2015.

8 year old Mckinley Miller swims in the 10 and under boys category and despite his young age, won the  bronze medal in the 100m IM and a ribbon for 5th place in the 50m  backstroke.

15 year old Kim Pothier competed in three events on Sunday and won 4th place in the 50m breastroke and had a top ten finish in the 100 breast while achieving a personal best in the event.

8 year old Yelena Hudgin won 4th place in the 25m backstroke in the 10 and under girls category.   Hudgin broke four Dolphin club records for 8 and under female including one record for 50 breaststroke set by Madeline Elit in 2003.

10 year old Vasko Philip attended his second swim meet with the dolphins and won an 8th place ribbon in the 50 breaststroke event, dropping 3.14 seconds from his previous personal best in this event.

12 year old Alex Nickson and 14 year old Faith Elsbury also competed with their teammates in Bellevile in three events. Nickson showed strong improvement dropping 4.37 seconds off of her 50m backstroke time.
