Wind warning continues

UPDATE: Monday morning a snow squall watch has been added to the wind warning for Prince Edward County. Snowfall amounts predicted at a possible 5 to 10 cms.
Cathy Caley is relieved about a good ending to a situation late Sunday night on County roads 18 and 12 where high winds downed part of a tree and hydro wires were arcing.
“It happened beside our place. We are so thankful for the police officers, firefighters, volunteers and hydro men who came so quickly,” she said. Power was back on soon after midnight.
11 p.m. SUNDAY UPDATE on tonight’s blast of winter: Avoid the area of Cty Rds 12 and 18. Hydro wires down on a tree are arching. Roads are icy – especially Belleville to Trenton; Hwy 62 Bloomfield to Belleville and 33 between 49 and 62. All of Hwy 49 has been reported as very icy.

Rainfall and wind warnings continue for Prince Edward County today.
Saturday’s above seasonal temperatures continue Sunday but with significant rain and wind turning into a bit of snow.
Environment Canada predicts 25mm of rain is likely before it transitions to snow Sunday night. In the meantime, strong winds with gusts to 90km/h are expected to develop in the evening and are to taper off early Monday morning.
Expect blowing snow overnight and Monday morning with accumulation expected to be 2-4cm. Periods of snow expected to continue Tuesday.
