Raise your coffee mugs in support of Hospice

Friends, co-workers, neighbours, book clubs, walking groups and church groups are invited to raise their coffee mugs for Hospice Prince Edward on Thursday, June 7.
The County’s Largest Coffee Morning event is dedicated to the memory of the many clients and families hospice volunteers have helped. The fundraiser also signals the 20th anniversary of Hospice Prince Edward which provides palliative and bereavement support – free of charge – to families and individuals of all ages in Prince Edward County. Its current project is to create a four-bed residential hospice centre at Benson Hall, downtown Picton.
Hosing a coffee morning is fun and easy, report event co-chairs Fran Renoy and Karen Giraudy. Everybody is welcome to participate.
“Your coffee party need not be a lot of stress and worry,” notes Giraudy. “It’s meant to be a relaxed, easy way to visit with neighbours and raise awareness of hospice in our community. Simply invite guests into your home, business, church, community centre or any other place; brew some locally-roasted coffee and maybe a few sweets and in return, guests are invited to make a donation to support the work of Hospice Prince Edward.”
The County’s Largest Coffee Morning is sponsored by County Roastery’s Brad Lynd and Esther Howard. Proceeds support Hospice Prince Edward programs and services.
“The main goal of the campaign is raising awareness,” said Wayne Carruthers, of Hospice Prince Edward. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and have a conversation. We want it to become a signature event.”
To get started with your coffee morning party, pick up a registration form from the Hospice Prince Edward office, or call 613 476 2181 x4253.
