Remember Me is Laugh out loud funny – final shows this weekend

Reviews from last weekend’s performances in the wildly funny comedy Remember Me by the Prince Edward Community Theatre make it a must-see – and your last chance is this weekend.
Remember Me?, a comedy by Sam Bobrick, is directed by Jennifer Goodman, and stars Pat Larkin, Lindsey Payne, Fred Lester and Debra Acholes Bullis.

On the surface, Mary and Brian have an ideal marriage. One typical Sunday, Brian leaves to play tennis. While he is gone, Mary’s college flame shows up and proclaims his undying love … or does he? Brian flies into a jealous fury and tries everything he can think of to shake Mary free of her passion. Then, some unexpected house guests help them find their way back to romance and true love. Marcia Rodd and Tom Poston starred in the premiere comedy Bobrick.

“Prince Edward Community Theatre is delighted to bring its audiences this exhilarating comedy,” says director Jennifer Goodman.  “Set in the Manhattan apartment of Brian and Mary Hanson, this play is laugh‐out‐loud funny. From punchy one-liners to thought provoking statements of love, you won’t leave the theatre unhappy.
This show was almost as easy to select as the cast. I laughed out loud when I first read it. The fabulous cast brings this script to life.”

The cast of four is made up of seasoned community theatre actors – Fred Lester as Brian Hanson, a tax attorney who can understand tax law but not his wife. Debra Bullis, as Mary Hanson, a decorator who believes she may have just hit on a best-selling idea.  Pat Larkin portrays Peter Lawrence, a dream and a reality all at once. Rounding out the cast is Lindsey Payne as Tori Clark, a struggling actress, semi-vegetarian and big flirt.

The show finishes this weekend with a dinner theatre Saturday, Feb. 5 – doors open at 5:30; and on Sunday, February 6 with a matinee at 2 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased in advanced for $12.50 at Teasel’s Drug Store (Picton); County Tix at Books & Co.
