UPDATE – Work will continue Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Work on improvements on the Paul Street watermain rehabilitation project in Picton Thursday night could result in residents to the north of Picton Main Street experiencing coloured water.
Work is set to begin at approximately 7 pm on Thursday, Sept. 21. The coloured water may be present until mid-morning on Friday, Sept. 22.
Coloured water may be experienced by residents located to the north of Picton Main Street between McFarland Drive and Downes Avenue. Coloured water may also be experienced at the Picton bulk water station located on Macsteven Drive.
To address coloured water, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete and regular water service is restored.
Lane restrictions at the intersection of Picton Main Street and Paul Street will be in place for the duration of the work. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
