Richard Johnson joins Regional Tourism board

CHEERS! to the County’s Richard Johnson, of By Chadsey’s Cairns Winery and Vineyard has been selected to join the Region 9 Regional Tourism Organization’s 13-member founding board of directors.  RTO9 – a scenic region stretching along Lake Ontario serving Hastings County, Frontenac County, Leeds & Grenville, Lennox & Addington, Prince Edward County, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry County will work in concert with the Ontario Ministry of Tourism & Culture to provide collaborative direction to the region’s tourism marketing, investment and workforce development efforts.
The directors were selected by a governance nominations committee for their tourism and professional knowledge, experience, and skills to ensure the industry led organization will be well equipped to represent the interests of the region’s tourism sectors and stakeholders. Board members will serve one year after which an election will take place among the regional membership.
The inaugural meeting of the board is set for Oct. 28th, following which RTO9 will be incorporated and the board will begin to chart the future of the organization. For the latest information,  visit the transition website at www.region9tourism.ca
