More brands added to flour recall

UPDATE May 27 – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has added more brands to its recall list of flour and flour based products, over possible E. coli contamination.
Durum Atta Flour, Sooji flour, bread flours, including whole wheat and multigrain bread flours are included.

APRIL 5 – The recall of Robin Hood brand flour by Smucker Foods March 28 in western Canada has been expanded nation-wide due because of links to an E. Coli outbreak.
Canadian Food Inspection Agency says any 10-kg bags of the flour with a best-before date of April 17, 2018 should be thrown out. The recalled product UPC is 0 590000 0162 8.
Reports confirm one illness and 24 cases are being investigated. The recall of the 10-kg bags was triggered during an investigation into 25 cases – 12 in B.C., four in Alberta, four in Saskatchewan and five in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Symptons include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea.
