Members of the public travelling on roadways near 8 Wing Trenton Friday morning, Sept. 7, may see Wing members taking part in a security exercise near access points.
Capt Trevor Reid, 8 Wing Public Affairs Officer, said these members will be carrying weapons and are conducting routine security training in line with Canadian Armed Forces force protection policies.
“Such training is an important part of maintaining readiness and preparation for a wide range of operations,” he said. “For the safety of everyone, motorists are reminded to follow directions of traffic control personnel when entering and leaving 8 Wing. There will be minimal impact to traffic patterns on and off base.”
