In a holiday season unlike any other, spirits were bright at the Wellings of Picton this week as a group of residents presented the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation with a holiday gift of $6,265.
The funds were raised at the Wellings of Picton’s third annual Making Spirits Bright Christmas Bazaar that was held online Nov. 8 to Dec. 5. Due to COVID-19, the Wellings was unable to host an in-person bazaar.
This gift will be used to help lift the spirits of the PECMHF’s Back the Build campaign for a new hospital in Prince Edward County.
Rachel Henry, Wellings general manager, thanked the community for supporting the first-ever online auction and extended heartfelt gratitude to the residents who helped organize this festive event.
“We are so thrilled. This is to-date the most the Wellings has raised during the holidays for the PECMH Foundation, by over $2,000! It is always so wonderful to work with our residents who have spent countless hours on this. A big thanks to our committee members, residents and all of the local businesses who have contributed time and auction items to make our efforts a success.”
Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation is grateful, noting “the residents’ group gift speaks to the importance of community involvement and the impact it has on the quality of life for those residing and visiting the County. We are so grateful for the support.”
The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization whose mission is to raise money to advance health care for the patients of the hospital and the people of Prince Edward County.
