Serious injuries in ‘T-bone’ collision

Prince Edward County firefighters and OPP officers at the scene of a collision early Friday afternoon at the intersection of County roads 1 and 33 near Consecon. Police report a Cavalier travelling on Cty Rd 1 was in a “T-bone” collision with a GMC truck, trapping the front passenger in the car. Firefighters used Jaws of Life equipment to extricate a 32-year-old Picton man who has serious injuries and was transferred to Kingston General Hospital. Two young children in the back of the car were taken to Trenton hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries. Charges are pending against the car’s 28-year-old female driver, from Belleville. The driver of the pick up, a 36-year-old Trenton man, and his two adult male passengers, were not injured. -Ross Lees photo
