Sexual assault at Sandbanks didn’t happen

An investigation by the Prince Edward OPP Crime Unit has revealed an alleged sexual assault on a teenager at the Sandbanks did not occur. The OPP reported today that a 17-year-old female, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with Public Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code.
On June 5, 2011 at approximately 8:45pm, the Prince Edward OPP Crime Unit launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred while a teenage girl was sunbathing at the Sandbanks Provincial Park. As a result of the investigation, it has been determined that an assault did not occur.
