Silent auction of Christmas tree and gifts supports Loyalist Humane Society

Megan Hutton, left, and Anna Stellatos with the beautiful Christmas tree Anna decorated in memory of her miniature Poodle, Nikki. A silent auction on the tree and an assortment of other holiday gifts is now in progress at Angelo’s Restaurant in Picton.  In memory of your pet, and in support of the Loyalist Humane Society, drop by the restaurant (next to Metro) to make a bid, or a donation. In the meantime, catch up on the latest happenings at the Humane Society by reading A Sheltered Life – stories as told to Maggie Haylock-Capon, by Liza, resident greeter, with photographs by Alan R. Capon. Rumour is that Liza, shown below on duty, will be accepting the donation from Angelo’s campaign.

Don’t forget that voting in the Aviva Community Fund competition resumes today. Please let your mice roar. Click them each day to vote for the shelter in this final round.
Though the Loyalist Humane Society had great support in rounds one and two, the idea did not get enough votes to automatically move to the semi-final round. Anyone, anywhere, who has an email address can vote for the project once a day, every day until Nov. 30.  This is the last chance to qualify for the semi-final round in December.

What a lovely idea! Anna’s memory tree for Nikki is a wonderful gesture offered in the true spirit of Christmas. The Loyalist Humane Society and its dedicated volunteer staff do amazing work and deserve our support.
