County woman died in collision

UPDATE – Tyendinaga police identified Sherry Wilkinson, 38, as the driver of a Dodge pick-up truck who died in a collision Friday morning with a five tonne truck at the intersection of Highway 49 and Bayshore Road.
Wilkinson lived in Hallowell, Prince Edward County.
Police report preliminary investigation has determined that Wilkinson, who was travelling westbound on Bayshore Road, failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Hwy 49.
The driver of the five tonne truck suffered minor injuries. No charges will be laid.
OCT. 31 – Friday morning just after 11 a.m. officers with the Tyendinaga Police Service and Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy 49 and Bayshore Road.
Tyendinaga Mohawk Fire Service attended the scene. One of the involved vehicles, a Dodge pick-up, was engulfed in flames. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a five tonne truck, was not injured.
An OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
The identification of the driver is to be confirmed through a post mortem examination that will be scheduled.
A small portion of Hwy 49 remained closed just north of Bayshore Road for most of the day. The Skyway Bridge is now open.
